Mint is a relatively common herb that is commonly used as a fragrance. Its aroma and taste are well known to many people. Mint is a must-have for every household, and many of our everyday items have been fragranced with it. You will find mint in numerous products ranging from toothpaste that you use every morning to brush your teeth to gum that you chew and even culinary lamb dishes that use mint in their ingredients.
There are all kinds of distinct variations among the mint's family, like spearmints and peppermints, two of the most common mints. Spearmint, or garden mint, has a subtly sweet and crisp scent. An excellent example of its aroma is gum because spearmint is a key ingredient found in several gums. Peppermint, however, does not possess the same sweet aroma as spearmint, although it has a heavier scent. Peppermint has a unique herbal scent with an enticing fragrance that is very subtle and is a perfect fragrance base. Aside from the fresh scent, peppermint has a grassy aroma that really enlightens the overall fragrance.
Mint is a great top note; it brightens your mind and makes the fragrance stand out. It is a joy to work with and a good opening for any perfume formula.
